ISSUES

  • Our community needs a commissioner with strong conservative and moral values to serve as a role model for our community.

Over the past few years residents have witnessed local politicians:

    • Steal tax dollars for campaign purposes.

    • Conduct county business on personal devices.

    • Weaponize government against residents with targeted attacks.

    As commissioner I will:

    • Rebuild trust by keeping residents informed and maintaining transparency

    • Conduct county business only on county devices

    • Implement new ethics policies for county employees and,

    • Restore fair treatment for all residents speaking before the county commission.

  • As commissioner I want to accomplish the following:

Partner with the business community to increase the number of affordable housing units - solving our worker shortage and encouraging young families to move to the district.

Fix our failing infrastructure. I want to invest in our water and sewer systems while finding smarter solutions for traffic on Anna Maria Island and West Bradenton.

Reduce the County debt that has tripled to $700M over the past 4 years while our annual debt service is close to $40M.

Cut wasteful spending. Say no to widening 59th Street and the parking garage in Holmes Beach.

  • Over the past 4 years our commission have approved tens of thousands of homes without consideration for the community, proper planning, and infrastructure. We need a real plan for the future.

    As commissioner I plan to:

    • Add traffic lights and signs, better road striping, and smarter solutions for reducing speed on our roadways.

    • Reduce the congestion on our roadways by funding multi-use trails, and improving the quality of public transportation to the Island.

    • Invest in improvements to sidewalks, bike lanes, and overall pedestrian safety. FDOT says Cortez has 3 of the top ten most dangerous intersections from Tampa to Naples.

    • Invest in first responders and law enforcement officers.

  • Our home is defined by small town beaches, wide open farmland, and clean blue waters.

Over the past four years a failure to address disasters like Piney Point, an oil spill at SeaPort Manatee, over development, and dwindling protections for wetlands threatens to destroy a key pillar of our economy and way of life.

As commissioner I will fight to:

    Restore wetland buffers.

Fight over-development and protect agriculture lands for food security.

Direct funds to maintain the stormwater management solutions that are failing today.

Promote development standards that promote reclaimed water use, filter pollutants from waters, and limit impacts on natural lands

  • Home to the cities of Bradenton Beach, Holmes Beach, and Anna Maria. Anna Maria Island (AMI) is the last place in the region where we have retained the “Old Florida” beach town feel. AMI has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s when business owners and pioneers settled and developed the island.

  • Home to many great parks, the Bradenton Marauders, Village of the Arts, a vibrant downtown, and more - a great place to “live, work, and play.” The City of Bradenton serves as the county seat (our “headquarters”) and largest city in our county.

  • Home to a nationally recognized active fishing village and the Florida Maritime Museum. The Cortez Fishing Village is the only place in the region where the fish and crab caught on the docks can be served in the restaurants on shore.

  • Home to wonderful neighborhoods, resorts, and amazing parks and beaches. The north end of Longboat Key is within Manatee County.

  • Home of the Mardi Gras! Rubonia is a historic community going back to the late 1800s. Fun fact - Rubonia is a sister community of Terra Ceia!.

  • Home to Emerson Point Preserve and wonderful bay side neighborhoods.

  • Terra Ceia’s roots go back to the mid 1800s and is home to the Mullet Smoke-off and the historic Terra Ceia Village Improvement Association (VIA). Fun fact - Terra Ceia is a sister community of Rubonia.
